キャンバスの作品では、裏に回り込む部分が木枠に沿って切り取られていることがよくありますが、作品を解体し再度木枠に張り込む必要がある場合、布を継ぎ足して張りしろを補うストリップライニングとう技術を施します。写真はその応用編で、祭壇画の半円の部分を処置する場合、小さな布を並べてカーブに合わせていきます。花弁が開く様子に似ていることから、通称「マルゲリータ（フランスギク）」とよばれるそうです。使用… [read more]

先週に引き続き、補彩を施していきます。範囲が広く苦労した空の部分ですが、ようやく終了しました。次に建物・人物の部分を見直していきます。色が暗めのため一見分かりにくいですが、近付いて見てみると変色した過去の加筆や、絵の具がかすれて消えてしまっている箇所が多くあります。残された部分をよく観察し、違和感の無いよう色を丁寧に繋げていきます。 歴史… [Read more]
