Note: the "Summer Intensive Course" has the same contents as the "Short Course", but with a double number of lessons. Furthermore, it includes housing and extracurricular activities and services.
Overview
In our Ceramics course, students have the chance to learn and practice among the following:
- 1. Different techniques of decoration: "sgraffio" technique, slip (“Ingobbio”), etc.
- 2. Potter’s wheel
- 3. Forming Techniques (“pizzico”, mold, coiling, slab, all-round, etc.)
- 4. Ceramics’ painting decoration
- 5. Cold/Hot Finishing Techniques (Etruscan Bucchero, “Terra Sigillata”, “Encausto” technique)
- 6. Kiln
- 7. Majolica
- 8. Sculpture.
Please note that our Ceramics classes take place in a professional laboratory, located outside the school in Florence.

Summer Intensive Course fees include:

- Weekly guided art visits:
students will visit the best sightseeing and historical monuments of the city.
- Housing: shared apartments – twin room (single room at an extra cost*)
- Housing utility costs
- 4 daily meal + 2 coffee/tea/mineral water vouchers a week
- Cultural activities: once every 2 weeks
(e.g.: ceramic laboratory visit, antique market visit, Tuscan farmhouse visit, pizza lesson)
- English interpretation during lessons with the teacher and visits.
