In order to realize the dream that I had always longed for, I decided to take the plunge and retire last year at the age of 44 from the company I had worked for for 22 years, and decided to study abroad in Italy. I was looking for a school where I could make the gelato I wanted to make, and I found Accademia Riaci.

ずっと憧れていた夢を実現する為、思い切って去年22年間勤めた会社を44歳で退職し、イタリア留学を決意。自分の作りたいジェラートを形に出来る学校を探し、アカデミアリアチに出会いました。

7月19日(土)今日は、山へ水を汲みに行ってきました。手ですくって飲む天然の水は、体に染みわたる。この水は、高血圧が改善すると言われているらしい?・・・。

July 20 (Sun) Took the train out. After arriving at the station, I saw the board said ritardo 55. “Ritardo” is a daily occurrence in Italian life. All you can do is wait, even if it’s frustrating.
7月20日(日)電車に乗ってお出かけ。駅に到着後、掲示板を見たらritardo 55。イタリア生活「ritardo」は日常茶飯事。イライラも待つしかない。


July 21 (Mon) Today, I made spaghetti sauce with ‘nduja and tomatoes. It turned out spicy and rich, a truly adult flavor. Just sautéing it with tomatoes creates an exquisite pasta sauce!
7月21日(月)今日は、’ndujaとトマトでスパゲッティのソース作り。ピリッと辛くてコクのある、大人の味に仕上がった。トマトと炒めるだけで、絶品パスタソースに!

July 22 (Tue) Day 5 of my internship break. My fingers are starting to bend a little. The pain was so bad I couldn’t write with a mechanical pencil or eat with a knife and fork, so I’m happy to see some improvement.
7月22日(火)インターンお休み中5日目、少し指が曲げられるようになってきた。シャーペンで文字が書けない、ナイフとフォークで食べれない程、痛みが強かったので、少し改善されて嬉しい。


July 23 (Wed) After getting home today, I made tiramisu. I make it at the gelateria too, but I’m still pursuing my preferred taste with less sweetness.
7月23日(水)今日は帰宅後、ティラミスを作りました。ジェラテリアでも作っているけど、やっぱり甘さを控えめな自分好みの味を追求中です。

July 24 (Thu) A friend gave me some lavender flowers. I dried them right away after getting home! Herbs and flowers that would mold in Japan dry beautifully here. They smell great too, so I use them as air fresheners.
7月24日(木)お友達から、ラベンダーの花をもらいました。早速、帰宅後ドライフラワーに!日本だとカビてしまう乾燥ハーブや、花、綺麗にドライフラワーになります。香りも良くて芳香剤代わりに使用。


July 25 (Fri) Today I went to the Asian supermarket to buy rice. I found Japanese Akita Komachi rice. But it was expensive, so I bought Italian rice similar to Japanese rice, suitable for sushi. Rice-san! It’s nice and chewy, highly recommended.
7月25日(金)今日は、アジアンスーパーへお米を買いに行きました。日本のお米秋田こまち発見。でも高いのでイタリア産の日本米に近い寿司用を購入。お米さん!もっちりしておすすめです。
