In order to realize the dream that I had always longed for, I decided to take the plunge and retire last year at the age of 44 from the company I had worked for for 22 years, and decided to study abroad in Italy. I was looking for a school where I could make the gelato I wanted to make, and I found Accademia Riaci.

ずっと憧れていた夢を実現する為、思い切って去年22年間勤めた会社を44歳で退職し、イタリア留学を決意。自分の作りたいジェラートを形に出来る学校を探し、アカデミアリアチに出会いました。

Gelato Internship Course (#20) – K

Monday, June 9th. Italian class starts at 10:00. We begin with about 10 minutes of conversation about the weekend. Tendonitis from preparing gelato? The pain made taking notes impossible, so I took photos while attending class.
June 10 (Tue) Went shopping after work today. The spring/summer clothes I brought from Japan are too hot to wear. Cotton is comfortable in Firenze’s heat! Bought a cotton T-shirt and thin denim-style pants.

6月9日(月)イタリア語の授業が10時から。10分程度、週末の出来事を会話するところから始まる。ジェラテリアの仕込みで腱鞘炎?痛みでメモが取れない為、写メを撮りながら授業を受けました。
6月10日(火)今日は仕事帰りに買い物へ。日本から持ってきた春夏用の洋服が暑くて着られない。Firenzeの暑さには綿素材が快適!綿のTシャツと薄いデニム風のパンツを購入。

June 11 (Wed) Morning in Firenze. Relaxing time before commuting. Still few people around, and mornings are a bit chilly. With the daily heat and the addition of granita, the amount of fruit prep has increased. Gelato after work is incredibly delicious.
June 12 (Thu) Today, I received an apron with the shop’s logo from the gelateria. An unfamiliar environment and job. The importance of steady, daily effort really hits home. After a month of hard work, it’s less about the joy of getting the apron and more about finally feeling like I’ve joined the team?

6月11日(水)朝のFirenze.。通勤前のリラックス時間、未だ人通りも少なく朝は少し肌寒いです。連日の暑さでグラニテも加わり、フルーツの仕込み量も増えました。仕事帰りのジェラートも最高に美味しい。
6月12日(木)今日は、ジェラテリアからお店のロゴ入りエプロンをいただきました。慣れない環境と仕事。コツコツと日々の積み重ねの大切さが身に染みる。頑張った1ヶ月間、エプロンをいただけた喜びというより、やっと仲間入りできた?

June 15 (Sun) On my way home from work, I saw the 2025 Calcio Storico Fiorentino parade? The atmosphere was electric! I couldn’t help but stop and watch as the players and flag bearers, dressed in historic costumes, marched through the streets.
I truly felt this energy is what colors Florence’s summer.

6月15日(日)仕事帰りにcalcio storico fiorentino 2025のパレード?が見れました!熱気に溢れ選手と旗手たちが歴史ある衣装で街を練り歩く姿に、思わず足が止まりました。
この熱気がFirenzeの夏を彩るんだと実感。
