🇬🇧 Hello, this is Chikako. I am 25 years old from Japan. What made me decide to take this interior design course? It all started when I left the company last year. Originally, when I was 18, I went to an interior design vocational school for three years. I got a job at a jewelry company and had a gap of 2-3 years at my previous job. I was looking for a school where I could study abroad because I wanted to learn how to use colors and how to use interiors in a culture that is completely different from Japan. Then I found the Accademia Riaci website, saved up a year, and took a summer course. For a few weeks, I want to find a different perspective in Italy, the city of art.

🇯🇵 こんにちは、ちかこです。日本出身の25歳です。私がこのインテリアデザインのコースを学ぶ事になったきっかけは去年、会社を退職したことがきっかけです。元々18歳の時にインテリアデザインの専門学校に3年間通っていたのですがジュエリー会社に就職し前職で2〜３年ブランクが空いてしまった為転職活動の幅を広げるためにも勉強しなおそうとした事がきっかけです。日本とは全く違った文化での色の使い方やインテリアの使い方などを吸収したいと思い海外で学べる学校を探していました。そしてアカデミアリアチのサイトを見つけ一年貯金をしサマーコースを受けます。数週間ですが芸術の街イタリアで変わった視点を見つけていきたいです。

🇬🇧 After arriving in Italy, I stayed in a hotel for one night and took a taxi to my apartment the next morning. When I arrived at the apartment, my roommate girl greeted me with a smile. The room is spacious and very clean. The kitchen, bath, and toilet are shared, but there is no problem because everyone uses them cleanly.

🇯🇵 イタリアに着いてからホテルに一泊し翌日の朝にタクシーでアパートに向かいました。アパートに着いてからはルームメイトの女の子が笑顔で出迎えてくれました。部屋も広くとても綺麗にしてあります。キッチン,バス,トイレ共用ですがみんなで綺麗に使っているので問題ないです。

🇬🇧 When I arrived at the school, works of various courses were lined up. Because there is Japanese person in reception, we are reliable. The interior design course is located in the back of this classroom.

🇯🇵 学校に着くといろんなコースの作品が並んでいます。レセプションには日本人の方もいるので安心です。インテリアデザインのコースはこの教室の奥に入った場所にあります。

🇬🇧 Since school ends at noon, I went to eat gelato first in the afternoon. It was around 4~5 euros. There are many gelato shops and cafes on the school road, so if you are going for a long time, it’s a game against temptation lol.

🇯🇵 学校がお昼で終わるので午後はまずジェラートを食べにいきました。4〜5€くらいでした。通学路にたくさんジェラート屋さんやカフェが軒並み並んでいるので、長い期間通われる方は誘惑との勝負です笑。

🇬🇧 From around the 2nd to 3rd day, mosquito bites were supposed to be amazing. I was stung in 11 places, and my roommate’s child was also stung. When I told the Japanese interpreter at the school about it, she went with me to buy mosquito coils, insect repellent spray, etc., and I was able to get anti-mosquito goods.

🇯🇵 2〜3日目辺りから蚊に刺されがすごいことになっていました。私は11箇所も刺されてしまい、ルームメイトの子も刺されていました、、学校の日本語の通訳さんにその事を伝えると蚊取り線香や虫除けスプレーなど一緒に買いに行ってくれ蚊対策グッズをゲットできました。

🇬🇧 In interior design, I could choose a store design or an apartment drawing. This time I chose the apartment. There are some things that are different from Japan, such as the Italian style of drawing, the arrangement of furniture, and the size of the windows.

🇯🇵 インテリアデザインでは店舗デザインかアパートの図面を選べました。今回私はアパートの方を選択しました。イタリア式の図面の書き方や家具の配置、窓の大きさなど日本と異なる部分もあって、イタリアの文化などにも触れられとても楽しかったです。

🇬🇧 After school, we strolled around Florence and compared wines. There are many wine shops, so I went to Enoteca, which is also in Japan. I ordered one set and it came with cookies and chocolate. Chocolate ranged from 60% to 90% cacao. He explained the sake one by one. Next time I would like to research and visit delicious wine shops.

🇯🇵 学校終わりにフィレンツェの街をぶらぶらし、ワインの飲み比べもしました。ワインのお店もたくさんあるので日本にもあるエノテカに行きました。1セット頼みクッキーとチョコレートも付いてきました。チョコレートはカカオ60%〜90%の種類がありました。一つずつお酒を説明してくれました。次は美味しいワイン屋さんをリサーチして巡りたいなと思います。

🇬🇧 We went to the supermarket to buy local ingredients and ate fruit together. There are many fruits that you can’t see in Japan. I ate a pear-like fruit and a fruit that looks like a peach and an apple. The apple-like fruits tasted like loquats, and the pear-like fruits were not yet ripe or sweet.

🇯🇵 スーパーで現地の食材を買いに行きみんなでフルーツを食べました。日本では見かけないようなフルーツなどがたくさんあります。梨っぽいフルーツと桃とりんごを足したような見た目のフルーツを食べました。りんごっぽいフルーツはビワのような味がして、梨のようなフルーツはまだ熟していなかったのか甘くはありませんでした。

🇬🇧 The interior design course is taught by two teachers on different days of the week. This time, when I said that I wanted to include it in my report with Dr. Linie, she took a picture of me. It’s almost like a one-on-one class.

🇯🇵 インテリアデザインのコースは二人の先生が曜日別で授業をしてくれます。今回はリーニエ先生とレポートに載せたいと言ったら写真を撮ってくれました。ほとんどマンツーマン授業のような形です。
