Furniture Restoration Short Course (#4) – Hikaru.I

This week marks almost a month since I arrived in Italy! We are now approaching the final stages of the inlaying and carving process that we are being taught. We are now learning about painting and coloring. We don’t just mix paints, but also chemicals such as ammonia, alcohol, potassium, and so on! Each of these chemicals has its own meaning and role. I heard that knowledge of science is also necessary for furniture restoration. I’m very interested in it and I think I will enjoy studying science from now on! Next time, I will start working on a different kind of sculpture. I would like to make use of the techniques I have learned so far!
