You can thoroughly learn the trend and the business expertise of the world-leading Italian fashion industry. Italian fashion originated in Florence where historically had a dominant influence in the Italian fashion industry as a textile-producing center. Nowadays, Italy is a place where the hottest fashion brands such as Gucci, Ferragamo, PRADA, etc., set up their headquarters. There exist numerous ateliers and studios as well, and many important fashion exhibitions are held.
In Accademia Riaci’s Fashion Business Course, students learn how to market-research as well as construct a business planning and design a sales promotion strategy. We direct our students fully so they can work their ways up to become successful in the fashion industry. As we enhance students’ creative skills, we cultivate the students’ multiple viewpoints for determining the current trend and the market movement. In the class, students study the basic fashion knowledge to understand the effect the fashion exerts on the economic, social, and mental aspects, as well as the marketing principle, the store development, the advertising strategy, and the sales techniques, to become a professional business person in the fashion industry.
The Master Course in Fashion Business is a one-year top-up program that prepares students to work in a variety of fields within the fashion industry, including market research, retailing and merchandising.
Students are expected to involved in creative processes related to fashion design and production while demonstrating the necessary business insight to succeed in the highly competitive fashion industry.
The creative processes include initial product concept, product development, materials and trends research, sourcing and manufacture, finance and management control, as well as events production (audience identification, use of media, sponsorship, press release, etc.), consumer behavior and methods of visual/verbal communication.
The course encompasses fashion entrepreneurial vision in the fashion world.
Each student is required to work on a fashion business project, deciding the target as well as the most suitable promotion strategies to break through a specific market.
Communication in fashion business nowadays requires capability to plan and management of integrated communication strategies, to follow advertising campaigns, to relate with mass media and fashion agents, to arrange fashion events and shows, to take care of public relations. And above all, to develop selling plans for new products, designers and fashion branding are necessary.
Our students start the essential basic skills to deal with marketing and fashion communication-planning route effectively. As well as the cultural knowledge and the basic techniques, they will improve the right planning method, starting from the market, the fashion products, and the consumer analysis, to the presentation of marketing and communication plan using traditional and innovative new media. Then students will analyse fashion as a whole system of signs and tendencies, propose personal views, and organize themes in projects with critical attitude to be ready for the real working world.
Note: the "Summer Intensive Course" has the same contents as the "Short Course", but with a double number of lessons. Furthermore, it includes housing and extracurricular activities and services.
