Painting and Drawing vol.5 (One-Year Course – Holly)
Week 5
Monday
Today we were shown a different ink mark-making technique. I found this to be very interesting and beneficial to my own drawing technique. (1)
I decided to try a portrait focused on heavy mark-making from one of Michelangelo’s pieces. (2)
I enjoyed working with this technique and think I will continue to practice in this way.
After class, I decided to bake a cake for my housemates. (3) Then went for a catch up with one of my friends.
Tuesday
I decided to experiment more with the ink technique from yesterday’s lesson (4), then went to explore the city, followed by helping to prepare food for tea with my housemates. (5)
Wednesday
I continued to work with the ink pen drawing and decided to try to create highlights and shadows with mixing ink and water. (6)
Then went for a Vespa ride with my friend to see a view point of Florence from Fiesole at night (7).
Thursday
I decided to draw a fish oil painting from an old master’s work. (8) I enjoyed this as I found it more enjoyable to paint after learning the correct techniques with the colour mixing and happy with the results so far.
After today’s lesson I decided to continue to work on my ink drawings in preparation for Mondays lesson. (9,10)
