Furniture Restoration Short Course (#3) – Hikaru.I

This week the teacher showed us the actual furniture restoration process. It was the first time for me to see the restoration process, so I learned a lot and it was very interesting!
In addition to the restoration work, he also showed us pictures of pieces he had restored in the past and before their restoration. I thought it was amazing that something that was so battered and tattered was now as beautiful as new! However, he said that he does not make every piece look brand new, but sometimes he dares to make pieces to be exhibited in museums or sold in antique stores look old. I was impressed by the depth of the furniture restoration process. I would like to work hard to improve my skills so that I can do this kind of work too!
