Nina Mostert
Country: South Africa
Course: Fashion Design
Program: Semester Course
Period: Sep 2, 2019 - Dec 13, 2019
My Name is Nina Mostert and I am from South Africa. Currently, I am taking a gap year to learn what the world has to teach me, to find my style and to make some dreams come true!
I divided my year into 2 halves. In the first semester of the year, I lived in NYC where I was studying Film and Acting whilst I was doing an internship at a jewelry artist. I have a great love for fashion and that is why I chose to spend the second semester at Accademia Riaci. A Great school that combines fashion with the art world in such an amazing way.
I love to visit museums and see art in everything. Furthermore, I love yoga, good food, and my friends.

Fashion Design Semester Course (n.11)
I worked on my mood board and added more ideas to my Pinterest. Just did basic research today.
Today I practiced using illustrator. I created a good luck duck. Just a silly image to learn how to use the basic tools. I also started brainstorming ideas for my logo. I will call my T-shirt brand “baba kat” this directly translates to baby cat in my language, Afrikaans. I think it has a nice ring to it and it is also one of my “nicknames” between me and my best friends back home.
I will complete my logo brainstorm for homework.
Wednesday
Today I reviewed the ideas with my teacher and started creating them on photoshop and illustrator.
Thursday.
Today I finished the logo edits on illustrator.
Friday.
Today our art visit Was to a church close to school.
After the art visit we walked to Santa Maria novella.
Our teacher Barbara is amazing. I Love her classes so much.
Tomorrow we will go to Empoli to visit a glass museum.
