17世紀の祭壇画の修復例です。数十年前に修復が行われており、補彩が変色し欠損が目立っていました。まずは黄変したニスとともに変色した補彩を溶剤で取り除きます。過去の修復では欠損に色付きの充填剤が使われ、絵画表面の凹凸の細工も無く所々高さの足りないところもあり、一つ一つ見直す必要がありました。過去の充填剤を機械的にすべて取り除くことは作品にとっても負担となるため、その上に新しく作った充填剤を薄くのせ、… [read more]
