医師として忙しく働きながら、ジュエリーメイキングに興味を持ち、アカデミアリアチへ留学経験のあった親戚の紹介で、今回サマーコースへの参加を決意。

Jewelry Making Summer Course (#6) – R.T.
The final week was dedicated to Florentine engraving. We practiced carving along straight lines drawn by the teacher with a pen. Even when I managed to carve straight lines, achieving uniform depth was difficult, and mastering the right amount of pressure proved challenging.
最終週はフィレンツェ彫りの授業です。先生がペンで引いた直線の上をひたすら彫る練習です。まっすぐ彫れても深さが均一でなかったり、力加減を習得するのが難しかったです。

曲線とデザインを彫る練習。
We began carving actual designs onto the rings we made in metal engraving. The teacher looked at my work, thought of a design in her head, and then actually carved it to show us an example.
彫金で作ったリングに実際にデザインを彫っていきます。先生が私の作品を見て、頭の中でデザインを考えて、実際に彫ってお手本を見せてくれました。
The flat ring started to gain a three-dimensional look.
平面だったリングに立体感が出てきます。
The initials the teacher carved for me as a memento. They turned out beautifully.
記念に先生に彫っていただいた、イニシャル。素敵に仕上がりました。
The tomato pasta I ate on the final day was absolutely delicious.
最終日に食べたトマトのパスタが最高においしかったです。
Finally, I went to Ponte Vecchio again. No matter how many times I go, I’m always mesmerized by the many beautiful pieces of jewelry.
最後にまた、ポンテヴェキオに行きました。何度行ってもたくさんの素敵なジュエリーに見惚れてしまいます。
I lived in an apartment, but I stopped by the nearby Four Seasons. Its beautiful lobby made me want to stay there next time I visit Florence.
私はアパート住まいでしたが、近所にあったフォーシーズンズに立ち寄ってみました。素敵なロビーで、またフィレンツェを訪れた際には泊まってみたいです。
My flight back was in the afternoon, so I went for a cappuccino at a cafe near the school one last time. Thanks to everyone at Accademia Riaci, the delicious meals, and this wonderful city, I spent six incredibly meaningful weeks I’ll never experience again. Thank you so much.
帰国は午後だったので、最後に学校近くのカフェまでカプチーノを飲みに行きました。アカデミアリアチの方々、美味しい食事、素敵な街のおかげで、二度と経験できないような有意義な6週間を過ごすことができました。本当にありがとうございました。

At Accademia Riaci, we are recruiting Course Reporters from our students. The students who are chosen to become Course Reporters are given 10 % of the tuition as their scholarship fee.
The Reporters who have submitted excellent reports will have his or her profile posted on our school website for the next 5 years as an alumnae and will be able to connect with their business chancesafter their graduation.
