The second week of the jewelry course. While shaping the leaf shape of the pendant top more three-dimensionally, we are building the linear parts of the core and the parts that will be the underside of the leaf. The pointed tips of the leaves were a struggle, breaking the blade of the thread saw four or five times. Both the file and the thread saw are very difficult to use, and time passes very quickly.
ジュエリーコース第二週目。ぺンダントトップの葉の形をより立体的に整形しつつ、芯の部分の線状パーツ、葉の裏側になる部分のパーツなどを造っていきます。葉先の尖った部分は苦戦、糸鋸の刃を4〜5回折ってしまう。ヤスリも糸鋸も力加減がとても難しく、あっという間に時間が過ぎてしまう。

The pendant top is somehow taking shape, and I welded up to the ring where the chain goes through..
I bought a streetcar (and of course bus) pass for June at TABNET. I have learned how to get on and off the tram and the names of the stations, but I haven’t had a chance to take the bus yet..
ぺンダントトップは何とか形になりつつで、チェーンを通す輪のところまでの溶接をしました。
TABNETでトラム(勿論バスもOK)の定期券6月分を購入。乗り降りも、駅名も大分覚えて来ましたが、まだバスには乗るチャンスが無いままです。

A new weekly class called “engraving” has been added to the course. It seems to be a technique unique to Florence, in which an engraving knife with a round handle is used to engrave a metal surface (a copper plate was used for practice) and fill it with lines to create a matte texture, then engrave a pattern on it to make the motif stand out. This is very detailed work with a blade, so it requires a sense of tension and concentration.
新しく週一でengravingという技法の科目が加わりました。フィレンツェ独特のものらしく丸い取手のついた彫刻刀で金属面(練習では銅板を使用)を彫り線で埋めていきマットな質感を造った後、その上に模様を彫りそのモチーフを浮き立たせる、、、。刃物を使っての細かい作業なので緊張感と、集中力が必要です。

A new assignment started with the creation of earrings. A small silver plate is cut in the shape of an ornament, and the inside is opened to make a beveled pattern. Fighting with the thread saw today.
新しい課題でピアスの作成がスタート。銀の小さなプレートをオーナメントの形にカットし、内側はすかし模様を開けていきます。今日は糸鋸との戦い(笑)

This week’s art visit was to the Davanzati Museum (medieval mansion museum)
I was happy to hear a detailed explanation of the museum since it was a place I wanted to visit.
Today is the end of the first half of the four-week course.
Tomorrow Sunday (the first Sunday of every month is free), I will go to Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens first thing in the morning, as well as other places I want to visit. Tomorrow is June, and I wish you a good month.
今週のアートビジットは、ダヴァンツァーティ　ミュージアム(中世邸宅博物館)
行きたかった所だったので、詳しく解説も聞く事が出来満足。
今日で前半の授業が終了、あっという間の4週間だった。
明日の日曜日は(毎月第一日曜日は美術館が無料なので)朝一でピッティ宮と、ボーボリ庭園、その他行きたい所があるので、本日は体調を整え明日に備えます。明日からは6月、いい1ヶ月であります様に。

We go to Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens as planned. The sun is shining so strongly that it feels like summer has arrived, and we need to replenish our fluids! After returning to the hotel, I found that I had not been able to visit all of the gardens and museums, but the sheer scale and power of the place made me feel a lot of things.
予定通りピッティー宮殿とボーボリ庭園に行く。夏到来という感じで陽射しが強く、水分の補給も必須！戻ってから確認してみたら、庭園内も美術館も回り切れていなかったがあまりのスケールの大きさと、迫力を前にしていろいろな事を感じさせられた1日になった。


It was Monday, Republic Day, and a holiday. I went to Fiesole, which my friend told me about yesterday (it is close enough to go there by city bus, and the weather was nice for a walk!) ) We went to the Fiesole where we had a great view of Florence, saw the Roman Theater, the Archaeological Museum, etc., and had a nice relaxing time. We finally got on the bus.
月曜日ですが共和国記念日で祝日でした。昨日友人に教えてもらったFiesoleに行き、(市バスで行ける近さで、お天気が良くお散歩日和！)フィレンツェの街が一望できるところで、ローマ劇場と、考古学博物館などを見、気持ちの良いのんびりとした時間を過ごせました。バスやっと乗りました(笑)
