Course: Painting Restoration
Program: Internship Course
Period : Jun.1,2015-May,2017
In order to add more practical experience in my career, I decided to study in Florence, the home of restoration work. I wish to improve my painting restoration techniques through experiencing various types of restoration works as well as learning the latest restoration techniques. I am looking forward to letting you know about my daily life in Florence and my weekend visits to churches, museums and so on.
I started working on another restoration work. At first I completely got rid of the old filler used for the past restoration work. I then filled deficits with new filler made with plaster and glue. After all dried, I scraped the filler to even out the height with surrounding paint color. I then rebuilt the brush traces and cracks so they looked naturally connected with surrounding paints. Every work is done under diagonal lighting so shadows of small unevenness are clearly visible.
