The One-Year Course offers a comprehensive and accelerated program, giving a unique opportunity to acquire a wide range of knowledge and techniques related to the field of study.
Along with practical classes of the major subject - combined with challenging homework and assignments – our Basic Art Lessons will provide students with fundamentals of Italian arts and design.
Furthermore, they will broaden and enrich their artistic experience - looking beyond the borders of your specialty – through our weekly guided Art Visits and monthly Art Stages.
Through this program, students will not only acquire a solid foundation in fine arts but also develop specific, advanced skills, immersed in a stimulating learning environment.
Diplomas are issued to those who pass the final exam.
The Painting and Drawing Master Course is addressed to advanced students who are highly motivated, self-directed, and committed to the disciplines of painting and drawing. In our Master, students work closely with a dedicated faculty of many professors who, in their work, represent a broad range of contemporary painting and drawing. We encourage the cultivation and examination of each student’s vision within the discipline. Instruction is conducted primarily by the tutorial method. Candidates work independently in their studios with oversight provided by faculties. At the end of a year, the faculties meet with each student to appraise progress towards the diploma. These tutorials are supplemented with graduate classes. A Seminar is also offered, which focuses on diverse issues and fosters interaction among Master students across studio disciplines. A comprehensive education in drawing and painting stresses both breadth and depth. An awareness of the breadth of what is being done in the present and what has been done in the past encourages students to relate their practice to both the current context and earlier historical ones. With this in mind, we require the study of art history, theory, and criticism to complement studio work. Our program majors and Master's students profit by the experience of a rigorous conservatory education compounded with the breadth of exposure that such Accademia Riaci affords. The one-year of study toward the Master in Fine Arts culminates in a thesis exhibition.
Note: the "Summer Intensive Course" has the same contents as the "Short Course", but with a double number of lessons. Furthermore, it includes housing and extracurricular activities and services.
