Note: the "Summer Intensive Course" has the same contents as the "Short Course", but with a double number of lessons. Furthermore, it includes housing, extracurricular activities, and services.
Overview
In our Ceramics course, students have the chance to learn and practice among the following:
- 1. Different techniques of decoration: "sgraffio" technique, slip (“Ingobbio”), etc.
- 2. Potter’s wheel
- 3. Forming Techniques (“pizzico”, mold, coiling, slab, all-round, etc.)
- 4. Ceramics’ painting decoration
- 5. Cold/Hot Finishing Techniques (Etruscan Bucchero, “Terra Sigillata”, “Encausto” technique)
- 6. Kiln
- 7. Majolica
- 8. Sculpture.
Please note that our Ceramics classes take place in a professional laboratory, located outside the school in Florence.
