Shoe Making 19.10.14 : Assistant Report 2
This is a test pattern for the boots I am working on. I’m not 100% percent satisfied with the model. I will need to make some adjustments and possibly another pattern. It can be difficult to make all the lines on the pattern look correct and visually appealing because there are only a few specific measurements taken and the rest is based on sight and experience.
A few weeks ago the entire class went to the last factory, the Formaficio, to place an order. I ordered two pairs of lasts, both women’s with a low heel. I am very excited to have finally received them!
This is Caffe Giacosa, inside the beautiful Palazzo Strozzi. It is a great place to relax with friends over a coffee or small dessert. The palazzo is a museum, often with contemporary exhibitions. It is best to sit outside under the arcaded area, rain or shine and take in the magnificent architecture!
There are great markets in Piazza Santo Spirito. This weekend there was an organic foods and crafts market. The weather was perfect for the occasion!
Here is a beautiful stand that specializes in hand–‐made wicker baskets and chairs as well as dried flowers and potpourri.
I often buy these hand made soaps, which have many wonderful scents, such as cinnamon, lavender and lemon.
