Textile Design Short Course (#20) – Tomomi W
Me working with Ms. Gioia, part 1.Under the influence of seeing the carnival the other day, I wanted to paint something very bright, so I decided to make a T-shirt with a sun pattern.

先日カーニバルを見た影響で、すごく明るいものが描きたくなったので、太陽の柄のTシャツを作ることにしました。

I wanted to put a message around the sun, but I didn’t know any good words other than felicità, so I let Joya-sensei decide all the rest. LOL!太陽の周りにメッセージを入れたいと思ったのですが、felicità以外に良い単語を知らなかったので、残りは全部ジョイヤ先生に決めてもらいました。笑
This time I used a fine brush to draw the letters, but originally it is said that it is easier and more convenient to draw with ink in a container like this one.今回は細筆で文字を描きましたが、本来はこのような容器にインクを入れて描くと描きやすくて便利だそうです。
At first, I thought of using light blue for the letters to represent the sky, but after trying it out, I decided on green to represent a meadow, because light blue on a white background would not be clear, and I did not want to put cold letters on a warm-colored sun.文字の色は、はじめに空をイメージして水色にしようかと思ったのですが、試し書きしてみたところ、白地の上に水色だとハッキリしないことと、暖色の太陽に寒色の文字を添えたくなかったので、草原のイメージで緑にしました。
I drew the face. After this, I fixed the ink with an iron, and after washing, the pencil lines will disappear and it will be finished.顔を描きました。この後、アイロンでインクを固定して、洗濯したら鉛筆の線が消えて完成です。
Lay a layer of carbon paper over the purple cloth, then a layer of tracing paper with a floral pattern on it, and transfer it to the cloth by tracing strongly from the top with a pen.紫色の布の上にカーボン紙を重ね、その上に花柄を描いたトレーシングペーパーを重ね、ペンで上から強くなぞって布に転写します。

The petals are painted with white ink, allowed to dry, and then the colors are layered on top of each other.花びらを白いインクで塗り、乾かしたのちに色を重ねていきます。
Thanks to the practice, the blurring has improved little by little.練習の甲斐があり、ぼかしが少しずつ上達してきました。

At Accademia Riaci, we are recruiting Course Reporters from our students. The students who are chosen to become Course Reporters are given 10 % of the tuition as their scholarship fee.
