Jewelry Making vol.2 – Master Course 2018 (k.m)
This week before moving forward on our second project, we finished our leaf. Here I am preparing to solder the three parts together to make a final pendant.
Here we working with the engraving instructor to get our metal set into wax so we can practice our engraving.
Here is a close up photo of how we use an oil lamp and wax to set our metal plate into the wax.
After our metal is set into the wax, we begin sketching our patterns onto the metal.
My classmate watches the engraving master sketch.
My classmate and our technician watch the master engraver sketch. The technician translates for us and tells us that he’s sketching grape leaves.
My engraving practice show traditional line patterns unique to Florence.
We move on to our next project. A set of hand constructed Florentine earrings. This is the pattern layout for the earrings.
In my free time I enjoy exploring Florence. This is a typical view down an alleyway.

At Accademia Riaci, we are recruiting Course Reporters from our students. The students who are chosen to become Course Reporters are given 10 % of the tuition as their scholarship fee.
The Reporters who have submitted excellent reports will have his or her profile posted on our school website for the next 5 years as an alumnae and will be able to connect with their business chancesafter their graduation.
