Jewelry Making Summer Course (#1) – R.T.
On the walk from the apartment to the school, you can see the Duomo. It’s a sight to behold.
アパートから学校まで歩く途中にドゥオモが見えます。圧巻。
Jewelry making for the first time in my life. First, I learned how to use a thread saw, and then I started making rings. I cut a brass plate, sanded it, and made a pattern on it. Finally, the ring is bent and rounded!
人生初のジュエリーメイキング。まずは糸鋸の使い方を学び、その後さっそくリング作りに。真鍮の板を切って、やすりで削って、模様をつけて。最後に曲げて丸めたら完成！
On the second day, we went to a jewelry store to buy sterling silver for the next piece.
2日目は次なる作品のために純銀を買いに宝石店へ。
Making a ring out of silver. The plates are welded tightly together.
銀でのリング作り。板同士をしっかり溶接します。
Even the smallest scratch is polished well, and a beautiful shiny silver ring is completed.
細かい傷もしっかり磨いて、きれいに光るシルバーのリングが完成。
Between classes, it is becoming a tradition to have a latte at the cafe across the street.
授業の合間には、向かいのカフェでラテを飲むのが恒例となりつつあります。
For the next week’s piece, I melt down the sterling silver I bought and make it into a sheet. Sweat is pouring off me from the heat.
次週の作品のために、買った純銀を溶かして板状にします。暑さで汗が流れ落ちます。
In the evening, we go to a restaurant we found on our walk. The interior is lovely and the waiters are friendly.
夜は散策途中で見つけたレストランに。内装も素敵で店員さんも優しい人が多いです。
Art Visit takes us to Piazzale Michelangelo. It is located on top of a small hill, so you can see the city of Florence. It was very beautiful at sunset.
Art Visitではミケランジェロ広場へ。小高い丘の上にあるため、フィレンツェの街並みが望めます。夕暮れ時でとても綺麗でした。
For Cultural Activity, we took a 2-hour train ride to Castiglioncello. The temperature was about 5 degrees Celsius lower than Florence, and the sea breeze made it a very pleasant place. I would like to visit there again.
Cultural Activityは電車で約2時間かけてCastiglioncello（カスティリョンチェッロ）に。フィレンツェよりも約5℃も気温が低く、海風もありとても気持ちのいい場所でした。また自分でも行ってみたいです。

At Accademia Riaci, we are recruiting Course Reporters from our students. The students who are chosen to become Course Reporters are given 10 % of the tuition as their scholarship fee.
The Reporters who have submitted excellent reports will have his or her profile posted on our school website for the next 5 years as an alumnae and will be able to connect with their business chancesafter their graduation.
