I’m Marian and I studied Business Administration. Since I was a child I liked to paint and draw, and during my degree I realized my dream. I decided to come to Italy because it is known as the cradle of art. For me it ‘s a big opportunity to be in Italy and to study painting and Drawing.

Art Stage
Once per month we have the Art stage, this time we went to Prato to “Museo del Tessuto”. Prato is a small town, 30 minutes by train from Firenze. We met with the class at the train station and walked to the museum. We thought it was closed because there was not answer when we arrived, but then we started our tour.

Get Color
To tint a fabric you have to boil water, add the dye and then put the fabric into the water. Colors to dye can be made from different kind of material. An example is the cochineal, is a dead body of a little animal that lived on cactus. The dead body is grinded and then we have a dye that would give us a beautiful red colors. Also there are dyes from plant or rocks.

Obtener Color

Draw with a brush
I started with the brush and water just with a tear of ink. That way I can start slowly with the shadows and make a glaze little by little. One has to be careful with the ink, because there is no way to take it back that’s why it is important to have enough water and to do it gradually.

A love story
This week we went to the Uffizi museum. Ana Maria Medici was the last of the Medici’s family, and she said to the Firenze people that she would give everything that the family had, all the art with only one condition; everything has to be in Firenze forever.
This piece of art below, turned into one of my favorites once I knew the story. It’s a marriage that they loved each other forever and people used to say that they were two souls in one body.

The Venus
At Uffizi museum there is the Venus, a painting from Botticelli that shows the born of the Venus. This one is my favorite because you can appreciate the love, the beauty and the sensuality of the body. It is telling how precious a body is. The painting was made to bring another concept for the body, that is not to be just suggestive.

Love Firenze
From the Uffizi museum there is a view of the “Ponte Vecchio”, when I was watching that view, I realized that every day I fall in love with Firenze, I find something new each time I walk around, and I feel so peaceful and surrounded by love.
And also, here we can see a path for the Medici´s family, that they used it to go directly to they castell without getting involved with the people.
