The origin of Academy Riaci starts from small studio. Maestro Riaci taught jewelry making as he had studied metal crafts in both Paris and Florence. Since then, he has been actively involved in pursuing his philosophy of studying art in a small class with selected number of students. The school locates at the center of Florence-between Saite Lorentzo Church and Duomo. The Pallazo (building) used to be owned by royal family queen, and then leased by Maestro Riaci, whose confidence in Maestro Riaci’s work has been paramount.

The jewelry making technique called open work has been widely used in Florence since time of Renaissances, beginners and it’s one of these techniques that can be only taught here. Main motif is flowers and leaves. With one-month course, beginners can start carving and will be able to complete “bangle” in a month. For those who have previous jewelry making experiences, they eventually complete beautifully glistening crystal and two rings utilizing stone setting on colorful semiprecious stone, others include pendant head, pierce, bracelet and other original work. Even beginners with 2 months course, you can learn from very basics and eventually will be able to make pendant head and broach. |

As you know shoes and bags made by Feragamo and Gucci are famous for their high quality. You will learn every aspect of designing shoes and bags from Florence’s craftsmen with the top skills. Students with no previous experiences can start from easy pocketbook and if you already have experiences, you will make your own original work. You can take from 4 weeks course for bag making and shoes/bag design, however, if you are interested in shoe MAKING, you need to take 2 months course in order to complete a whole process in which you will learn every step of techniques prized as the world’s best leather art of Italy. |
