Master program is designed to provide students an opportunity to achieve the highest personal and professional accomplishment in the Jewelry field. The curriculum provides a broad exposure to techniques, expands knowledge of applied design, and strengthens perceptual and philosophical concepts and expression. Students are encouraged to experiment with any techniques and materials that will support their project. Technical areas of study offered are: soldering, sheet fabrication, raising, stretching, forging, repousse, die-forming, casting, stone setting, tool making, metal finishing, chemical patination, titanium and aluminum anodizing, photo etching, metal inlay, roller printing, silver plating, working with plastics, and incisione. The jewelry studios are equipped with a wide array of tools for lapidary, enameling, forging, casting and electroforming work; the machinist room has lathers, saws, mills, and grinding and polishing machines. Master students are assigned a private workspace. Before graduating, students are expected to demonstrate that they have developed their technical skills in areas that support their specific artistic direction. Professional development opportunities for Master students include: developing portfolios; encouragement to enter national exhibitions and competitions; and seminars devoted to resume writing, career planning, and teaching skills. The students in Master course focus on Jewelry Making, Stone Setting, Incisione and brattishing and Jewelry Design.

As Jewelry major, you will learn how self-exploration and self-expression translate into three-dimensional form to create unique objects for adornment and use. The major encompasses both wearable and non-wearable forms of expression. Projects fall into conventional formats such as brooches and earrings, and experimental forms, and address issues of function, design and concept. You will master a variety of techniques for making jewelry including cutting, forming, joining, casting and finishing. You will not be limited to metal and other traditional materials, but will be able to incorporate items such as beads, plastics, glass and found objects into your work. You will be challenged with more advanced techniques while exploring self-directed projects aimed at discovering your personal content. Also, you will be able to learn Incisione, which is traditionally, advanced technique in Italian Jewelry. Your body of work will evolve from your own ideas and research, shaped by your exploration of design philosophies. You will also be introduced to business practices.

The focus of this course is to study how the connection between tradition, self-exploration and self-expression translate into three-dimensional form, creating unique objects for adornment and use. The academy encourage students to develop and explore their own ideas, while it values traditional techniques unique to Italian Jewelry. Students master from the most traditional to the latest techniques of cutting, forming, joining, casting and finishing. One of the unique techniques studied at the Academy include a Florentine etching method called "INCISIONE."
Projects may fall into conventional formats such as brooches and earrings, as well as experimental forms, addressing issues of function, design and concept. Materials range from traditional metallic resources to an incorporation of a wide variety of materials such as antique and modern beads, plastic, feathers, shells, glass and found objects.
While exploring self-directed projects aimed at discovering your personal content, students are challenged to acquire further advanced techniques. Students' body of work will evolve from their own ideas and research, shaped by their exploration of design philosophies. Studio experience and practical knowledge in the jewelry business are important factors that complete the curriculum. The students can focus on Jewelry Making or Jewelry Design.

The jewelry making technique called open work has been widely used in Florence since time of Renaissances, beginners and it’s one of these techniques that can be only taught here. Main motif is flowers and leaves. With one-month course, beginners can start carving and will be able to complete “bangle” in a month. For those who have previous jewelry making experiences, they eventually complete beautifully glistening crystal and two rings utilizing stone setting on colorful semiprecious stone, others include pendant head, pierce, bracelet and other original work. Even beginners with 2 months course, you can learn from very basics and eventually will be able to make pendant head and broach.
